Not telling some of us anything new, but always nice to hear science verify your personal experience! A new study has found that our brain's are so woozy right after waking, our cognitive prowess is worse even than after a whole night's sleep deprivation. The fogginess lasts up to 20 minutes, and has special implications for those expected to respond immediately on waking. For the rest of us, it suggests everyone should follow my own practice of lying in bed "waking up" for some time before getting up!
