As someone whose long-ago master's thesis was on the evolution of intelligence, I have always maintained an interest in cognitive studies of non-human species. So I was pleased to see this recent article in the Telegraph about the latest experiments with fish. Not that the results surprise me in any way; we shouldn't actually need to be constantly reminded that other species have certain abilities in the way of specific memory tasks - such abilities only impress us because we consistently underestimate the abilities of every other species but our own.
