"Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, Creeps in this petty pace from the dawn of time ..."

Time, there's a fascinating subject. We think of it as something that exists outside ourselves, a dimension as real and measurable as your height or the width of your desk. But is it? Well, that's a deep, philosophical problem. But on a personal level, we're all aware of the subjective nature of our perception of time. Time goes fast when we're enjoying ourselves or absorbed in something; time goes slow when we're bored, or waiting for something. Wouldn't it be nice if we could control that perception, so that time went fast when we were bored, and slowed down when we had lots to do?

Unfortunately, there are problems with that, and the problems lie in how our time perception works. But we do have a certain amount of control, and it is, it appears, a learnable skill. And maybe ... as we learn more about how it works ... you never know ... Something to aspire to.
