Temple Grandin is autistic. She has a PhD, holds down an academic job, and is one of America's top designers of livestock facilities. For these achievements she is an inspiration to parents of autistic children. But perhaps her greatest achievement is to tell us what it's like to be autistic. She has written several books, and her latest Animals in Translation: Using the Mysteries of Autism to Decode Animal Behavior has just been released. You can hear a radio interview with her.
