There's an article in the Seattle Times about the new proto-field (meaning not here yet) of "cosmetic neurology" - a truly mind-boggling concept. The idea being that you could cut only to your neurologist when you need a boost to your maths skills, or your mood, or whatever. [More insidiously, thinking of the other new field of neuro-branding, how about governments manipulating their citizens through neurological interventions? Which also brings us back to a point I commented on on September 7 - the question of whether the achievements of neuroscience have been over-hyped. Is any of this really possible?]
