Someone else plugging the idea that rote memorization is not the demon modern education has made it out to be, and that maybe we threw out the baby with the bathwater when we decided to throw out all memorization.
On a more academic note, The Scientist has a couple of interesting articles: one on the mind-body interaction (imaging studies of the placebo effect and empathy), and one on memory reconsolidation.
